SIKE!!!....November 3, 2010
hahahahaha SIKE!!!!!! it's okay Mom, don't die!. of course i am going to write you a nice big long e-mail!!! it's my last one! i have to make it a good one!
oh boy, so... this week has been kind of crazy. between work and more service projects, the time is going by WAY to fast!!!! and sadly enough i have already started saying my goodbye's. the first one was last night. with the less active family that i was teaching with Elder Pearson. we went with the hermanas to their appointment to say goodbye. it was really sad, well, i was really sad. but it's not the first time that i have had to go through this. and i am only going to have to start saying goodbye to more people over the next week. not excited. But that's life.
yes i did get the recipes. thank you, and Hermana Layton also says thank you a ton. she was pretty happy to get them. although, i must say mom, to be ending my mission, that was a pretty short/ sad letter. ;) hahahaha just kidding. and i also got a letter from that chick in hawaii that grandma said would write. you can tell grandma that i am in the process of sending one back. i'll probably mail it tonight or tomorrow. so basically tomorrow.
with my bike, still haven't sent it unfortunately. and i just keep stressing about it more and more. but tonight i will give it to the brother and then he will get it sent off. so i'll make sure that word gets out to you. so we can hopefully get this all taken care of. and yes michael, i probably will drive my bike everyone! just in case you were wondering!
oh, so i don't know if you noticed, but kalli kolb, the girl that worked with chanae in seagull, is coming home with me. so i won't be the only missionary walking in to the St. George airport on thursday.
well, i'm kinda out of stuff to write already... i mean come on, i'll see ya in a week, right. and it is my last pday in the field, so i have to go and play hard!
I am pretty sad that it is already ending. i have loved my mission so much! I love helping other people, and watching their lives change! I love feeling the spirit every single day and knowing what my purpose is! there is truly nothing better than helping people remember that God loves them and what the Plan of Salvation truly is! I love this work so much!!! there is nothing better in this world!! i wish i could take all these feelings that i have for this work and let you all feel them, because there truly is no way to describe it. This is God's work!!!! Nothing can stop it!!!! This is His Church!!!!! Jesus Cristo died for you and for me so that we could repent and return to live with Him some day as a family! I know it is true with all my heart and soul!!! and I LOVE IT!!!!!!
thank you so much for all of you love and support, and letters and everything over these past 2 years! I love each and everyone of you!!!!!

Wazz upp!!!!????....October 27, 2010
okay first of all.... what the heck!!!! Jeff has a girlfriend!!! that loser!!!!!! i am going to write him a letter and do some inviting! because we have to hang out. gosh. so does anyone know who this chick is or anything? be sure and tell jeff when you see him that i feel deceived!!! :)
and does grandma want to get me off and married quick? hahahha... i thought that was pretty funny. but hey, i'd love to get a letter from a girl. at least some one is willing to help me out in the letter depart. ;) (michael and dallin!!)
thanks so much for the letters and package!!! those muffins are going to keep us alive this week!! hahaha..
so i was just informed that i only have 20 min til the lab here closes. but i'm pretty sure i wont need 20 min. we'll find out.
so this week has been going pretty good. on friday we had a zone meeting with the mission president. it was really good! and i had to give my departing testimony... wow, that was really sad. it is so weird to think that it is getting so close. because it really doesn't even feel like it. it just feels like another transfer is coming up. i dunno, i don't think about it though.
oh yeah, random thought, so mom, what was up with your big w entree, wow talk about depressing.
oh yeah, and i was wondering if you would be willing to go through my recipes and send me my muffin recipes, by letter or mail, it doesn't matter. but it would be great if you could do that. one of the sisters here in my district has been begging me for the recipes that i have at home. i don't know how exactly, but we started talking about muffins (weird huh:) ) and i mentioned the ones i have at home and she started begging me. a little weird, but apparently she really likes muffins.. anyways....
oh about my bike, so, i wasn't able to get a hold of the brother yet about my bike. i will probably be sending it in between now and next wednesday. and probably to salt lake. so after it gets there, we have ten days to pick it up. i will probably give the brother your e-mail or phone number so he can get all the details to you if i can't before wednesday.
this week was pretty crazy. we did alot of service! we finished the kitchen island at maria's house, and then we went and helped a family move in the middle of a rain storm because they were getting kicked out. so it was quiet interesting. yesterday was super cold because of all the wind! and we were out knocking doors in it. so that was super fun. but we had some good success! so it just goes to show how important it is to go out and work, even if it is SUPER cold!!!
well, sorry this e-mail is kinda random and super jumpy. maybe it's because i am in a hurry and because i have to use the bathroom really bad. i drank a ton of water this morning during my work out and it just hit me! sooo..... :) oh and yes mom, i am Huge!!! no but seriously, I am looking REALLY GOOD!!!! it's just the pits that we can't go to the lake when i get home. ;)
anyways..... I love you all so much!! thanks for all of your love and support!!!! the church is true!!!!!! Jesus Cristo is our Savior and Redeemer!!!!! and because of His atonement, we all can be together forever!!!!!!!!
Eu amo voces!!!!

October 20, 2010
Thanks for all the e-mails everyone! it was great to hear from you all and to hear about everything!
so while i am thinking about it, my address is actually different than the one on the letter i sent you. it is 953 McKnight Cir. #4 ..... and then the rockford il stuff. we live in a little circle and i didn't realize that it had it's own name, so.... if you send any letters, please send them to this address.
as for all of your questions mom.. i have no idea. ;) i honestly had no idea how many days i had left till i read my e-mail today. hahaha. um, the week i am coming home, i probably won't be e-mailing you. that whole day i will be traveling to the mission office and then doing who knows what. and then i will be home on thursday, sooo..... i still haven't received my itinerary yet though, so i don't really know what time i will be home or anything.
so with my bike, a member here that works for this shipping company said he could send it to Vegas, and then someone would have to pick it up from there. and it would only be like 40-45 bucks. which is really good actually. through ups it will be like 100 bucks. but i wouldn't pay, it would be when you pick the bike up. or he said he can send it to salt lake, but vegas is closer. then after it arrives we would have to pick it up with in 7 days. so let me know what you think. preferably as soon as possible (through a letter). so then i can get this worked out. and if it is better i can wait to send it till the last week i am here, so then i can go and pick it up once i am at home, although i would have to use someones vehicle. but let me know please.
so on Saturday we had a Baptism!!!! it was pretty sweet!!! we had more "potential investigators", or in other words non members, show up to the baptism than members! there was lots of people, and we hope that more baptism will come from that to. oh and it was crazy. i had to translate the meeting into english because there were some investigators there from the other Elders. that was quiet the experience. and then on sunday we had a high councilman come and talk to us in sacrament meeting, and he only speaks english. well the bishopric asked me to translate for him during the meeting. wow, i just about died. needles to say i was super nervous. in the end it came out okay, but i definetly need to practice though. it's pretty hard to translate english into spanish. especially when you haven't quiet dominated the spanish language yet. but it was a good exp. i was praying like crazy through the whole thing.
yesterday we had a really good appointment with our part member family. we wanted to give the husband and the brother a baptismal date, but we didn't feel like it was right yet. so that was kinda a bummer, but we did have a very spiritual lesson with them and they will get baptized, just not right away. but hopefully soon.
well, i guess that's about all for me. i hope you all have a great week and that all goes well for ya! thanks for all of your love and support! I love you all!!! be sure and read the book of mormon daily so that you can get spiritually fed! don't let your spirit die of hunger! Eu Amo Voces!!!
Elder Wilson
p.s. um, about the package... maybe just send some more muffins. me and my comp downed those. and now the sisters think i am the muffin man. hahaha it's pretty funny. other than that, we are doing good. thank you!!! I love you!!!!
Batismo!! October 13, 2010
so i see how it is.. everyone is having to much fun in hawaii to send me any e-mails.... hahaha, just kidding. thanks for the e-mail by the way, it was great to hear that everyone is doing good.
so this week we are going to have a baptism! on saturday at 7:00. we are super excited! she, Maria, was interviewed on monday and passed with flying colors. ;) so we are super excited about that! it will be sweet! we also have 2 more investigators that we want to set up for baptism on the 30 of oct. Hopefully that will work out to. as of right now, we are just trying to meet them. it is a part member family, the dad and brother in law aren't baptised yet. but have been to church a million times already. they just have a few things to change before they can get baptised. But we believe that they are ready and just need a little push in the right direction. so hopefully all will go well. So yes, i am planning on going out with a "bang". 3 baptisms in one month. but of course, it is nothing i have done or will do. it is all according to the spirit and the will of God. so we are praying alot that all will work out.
so i have been investigating a little bit one how i am going to send my bike home. i have been talking to a member who works for a shipping company and he said he might be able to work out a deal for me. but that the cheapest way would be to send it to vegas or to slc and then have some one (family member or friend) pick it up from there. or there is ups, but i am pretty sure that it would be at least 100 bucks to send it through them. but there is also an elder who is going home with me and his stake president is driving out here to pick him up (he doesn't have any papers so he can't get on a plane). and he lives in utah. he said he could take it home with him and then i could pick it up when i get home. but we have to see if there will be enough room. so.....if you have any ideas on how to get my bike home, let me know. :)
also, Mom and Dad, we need to make a few plans for when i get home to keep me busy for at least that first week, or until i can get a job and get busy. so brainstorm a few things and i will also be making some plans and when it gets closer, here in 3 weeks, we can plan it out over e-mail more or less.
so the Sister waiting to go to Brasil, that was in my district, left on tuesday. what a sad day again, now i have no one to practice with, although, the Brazilian lady we found a while back called the hermanas (because they have my old phone) looking for me. so hopefully we can get in touch with her again and start teaching her. that would be legit! i had a cool experience on monday. first of all i was in charge of district meeting, and it came out really good. not because i did anything special, but because the spirit was there and it was guiding us. it was really cool. i was totally stoked. then sister cidre (the one going to brazil) asked me for a blessing before she left for brazil. it was a very cool experience. i have truly come to appreciate the Blessing i have to be a Priesthood holder and to be able to serve others. it was a very spiritual experience for me. I love how the Spirit just flows and directs when you are giving blessings. it is such a marvelous and humbling experience.
I want all of you to know how much i truly Love this Gospel!! it means everything to me!!! and My mission has meant so much to me. I have learned and grown so much and i am truly going to miss being a missionary! to be honest i am not very excited to go home, because i don't want to stop serving in this calling! there truly is no greater calling in all the Church than to preach the gospel and bear testimony of the truths contained with in. I have learned so mush about the the Gospel and the Church. I have come to know my Savior better. and i have come to know who i am and who i want to become. and i can honestly say, my greatest convert in the mission was myself. I am now converted to this gospel. I know why we do things, and i know where to go for answers when i don't know. I know that this is the True Church of Jesus Cristo. This is the ONE and ONLY way to return and live with our God and our Brother! and the best part is that I know for MYSELF! i found out for myself. It is True!! and I love it!!!!! I love you all so much and i want to thank you all for your love and support. and for helping me through my hard times. Keep the Faith!!! and we'll all be together sooner than you think! have a great week!!! say hi to everyone in Hawaii for me. oh, and Please drink some acai for me!!!! man, i would love to have some right now!

Miracles.......October 6, 2010
Wow, first of all i was blown away by that story about Dallin and the two boys that got hit by lightning. all i could think of is HOW blessed we are. The Lord was truly watching out for Dallin!!! That so easily could have been him. WOW! I am so grateful that you walked inside Dallin. and i am 100% sure that the Spirit was there guiding you to keep you safe. We truly have so much to be grateful for!
so this week has been super crazy! like i said last week we had Hermanas get transfered up here and they took over our apartment. so this whole week we have been sleeping on the couches at the zone leaders house and living out of our suitcases. which kinda sucked. but yesterday we were finally able to move into our app. and we slept on beds to! :) we are excited to be in finally and have our own home. and the gym is sweet! today i went and kicked my butt at the gym. watch out, when i get home in 5 weeks, i'm gonna be huge! ;)
How did everyone like General Conference? it was super good! i really enjoyed the saturday sessions!! they were both super amazing!! i took at ton of notes!! and Priesthood was really good to. did you notice that the very first thing said in conference, and by the Profet no less, was that the church needs more missionaries! interesting huh! it shows that the work is going forward!! i also loved Pres. Uchtdorf's talk! and Pres. Monsons' about gratitude! Have an attitude of gratitude! i really learned so much!!! it was such a spirit booster!!! and then monday we had a training meeting for all of the leaders in the mission. it was also really good. it is amazing how you can always learn something new! i mean, i have been a missionary for 25 months, and i still learn new things and ways to improve my teaching! it is sweet!
well i hope you all have a fun time in hawaii! say hi to gramps and grams wilson for me!! tell them that i love them!
I hope you all have a great week!!! and please don't stand under any trees in thunder storms!! The Church is true!!! Jesus Cristo is our Savior!! and God is truly watching out for our Family!!!!!! Eu amo voces!!!!!

so guess what. as of today.. i only have 43 days left! 6 weeks!!! crazy huh!!! hahahaha, just thought i would let you know mom. but it doesn't even feel like it. thats the wierd thing. but it is also good. i am staying focused and working hard.
so today we had transfers. i am staying with elder garcia in his area, and sister missionaries are taking over my area. and i am super sad about that because they now teach the less active family we have been working so hard with. but i will still be able to see them at church. so that is good. and the sisters took over our app. and we are moving into a new one, but it isn't ready till friday, so until then we will be living with the zone leaders. so yes, my address will change. so i until i get my new address, you can just keep sending letters to that same address. we kept a mail key so we can check the mail for a while until it is all worked out. i should have it next week though. oh, and our new app. has a work out room!!! i am totally stoked to go work out every morning!! it will be sweet!! oh, and i was made District Leader again..... so that should be fun. oh, and one of the sisters that took over our house, thats in my district, is waiting for her visa to go to.......BRASIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so that is awesome!! i still have some one to practice portugues with!!! it is amazing how fast the Lord answers your prayers!!!!
so with our service project, i will have to send you pics, the floor (tile) looks super good!!! and now we will finish the bathroom and put in the cabinets. yeah, i know, we are redoing the whole house! but it is alot of fun, and we are helping this family so much!
well, i hope you all have a great week!! i love you all!!! take care!!!

hey everyone! how's it going? sounds like life has been pretty busy for evryone. so what is this big change with dallin? he didn't say anything to me. did he cut his hair? or finally get clothes that are in style? ;) jk. finally get rid of his braces?
so yesterday we had a few changes, and i feel all alone.... kinda. :) My companion, Elder Pearson, finally got his visa and left tuesday at 12:30!!!! i was super excited for him! but the moment he was gone i really missed him. I was surprised at how much to. i mean, after having 16 companions i'm pretty used to it by now wouldn't ya think. but then i realized that part of it is because he was really my only conection with brasil and portugues etc... and i realized how much i still miss brasil. it was really interesting. anyways.... i am now in a threesome. luckily it is only for a week, because if it was any longer i'd probably go crazy. 3 is just one to many people. and one of the other elders has a VERY!! strong personality and it drives me nuts. but i just keep my mouth shut and do what i am supposed to. luckily Elder Garcia is super funny and keeps me laughing, so that is a good stress reliever for me.
other than that, not to much is different for me. we had a super good lesson with our less active family! alot of things happened. the dad opened up alot and we found out that he doesn't have a personal testimony of the bom. but his wife has a really powerful testimony! it was a really good lesson, the spirit was very strong. but unfortunatley they didn't go to church this week. sad. but we have another appointment this thursday.
thanks so much for the package mom! we decided we are going to have a party before transfers next week. don't know how, i'll probably just take some cake to district meeting. but i am realy excited. and today i bought a bunch of "junk" food so i can get some more weight on me. :) so between the cake, shakes, junk food, and the members feeding us everynight, i'm hoping that i can get some more weight on me. i'll keep ya updated on how it goes. :)
and yeah, you can probably just send the cd's straight to my home. they'll be fine.
so have i told you guys about the service project we are doing? the one where we redid the plumbing on the house. well, now we are laying the tile. it's actually alot of fun. Elder garcia, before his mission, worked in construction for a general contractor and basically learned everything! so he teaches us how to do it and we all work together! it is alot of fun. and we are doing a huge service for this family, because they don't have the money to pay for it. and it is giving us some great teaching oppurtunities! Miracles are happening!
and no, i haven't gotten my itenerary yet. i probably won't get it till about 3 weeks before i go home. so like in 4 weeks. dang, which means, you guys only have like 50 days to get the house ready for me to come home!!! hahaha ;) hey, so what is everyone up to back home. meaning Jeff Jolley and Cody. do you see them very often. if you do, tell them i said hi, and that they had better not be getting married any time soon! jk.
well, as you can see, i am really jumping from topic to topic. so, have a great week everyone. i love you all!! thanks for all of your support and for all that you do for me! have a good one! Eu amo voces!

September 15, 2010
whazz up everyone?! hey thanks for all the e-mails!! i haven't gotten that many in a long time! it was sweet!!! so thanks so much! it was really good to hear from all of you...(except chanae;) hahaha it's all good chanae, i know, you don't hear from me either. ;)
so no, my comp is still here with me unfortunately. i say unfortunately because i really want him to go to brasil and learn to love it like i do. but we continue to have lots of fun and he keeps me going lots of the time. once in a while i need some extra "greenie power" to keep me going. especially in the mornings. i have never been a morning person, and lately it has been really tough. although today I jumped out of bed i woke my comp up! so yeah... as for everything else. basically the same old stuff. this past week was a crazy week needless to say. lots of service projects going on and we had a meeting with a 70, elder maynes. it was really good and i learned alot.
so our service project was lots of fun. we live with 2 other elders and their recent converts family bought a house to move in to, they are basically homless at the moment, and the house needs lots of work. some of the plumbing was terrible. broken pipes and what not. so me and elder garcia, a guatamalen elder, took it upon us to basically REPIPE the whole house. hahahaha...yeah... it was fun. i did actualy enjoy getting down and dirty and doing something different for a change. and being able to use my plumbing skills was fun. so while we were doing that, my comp and elder lemke were painting the house. it was alot of fun overall. well like i said, nothing to new is going on. we are at the moment looking for investigators that will go some where. we constantly have new investigators, but the trick is to find the ones who will go to church and read and all that good stuff. we usually have about 4-5 new people a week. so you can image how hard it is to find some one "golden" or solid. but it is alot of fun.
so did chanae and bryce not get the condo they where looking at? are they going to try to buy it.
oh, so yesterday we were mowing a members lawn, then she invited us in for some lemonade. while we were talking it up and drinking some juice, her daughter was showing off her new i pod to us. WOW!!!!! i am so behind on technology!!! it was the new ipod touch!! dang man!! it is so legite!!!!! don't know if i would buy one, i would have to play with one for a few hours first. but it was sweet!
so there are a few thing i was wondering if you could send me. a few cd's actually. we need more music for our car. in my room i have a few cd's that i got in brasil. they are in my closet on the top shelve. it looks like a blank cd, but if you look close it says Missao Fortaleza. and there are two of them. the other one i think it says Que coisa boa! so if you could send both of those and i was wondering if michael, with all his free time, could go through my lotr sound tracks and pick out the good songs, not the dark ones :), and burn them on a cd and send them to me as well. and the pirates sound track to please. that would be awesome. so then we don't go crazy with all the same music.
so mom, i totally forgot that i had put that reminder on your phone! hahaha, i'm sorry it mad you cry. when i read it i felt bad but started laughing at the same time. just because i totally forgot about that. Well, happy 2 YEARS!!! crazy huh! only two more months to go. actually not even that. lets see, if you want to get technicall about it...... it would be.... 57 days! so almost 2 months... but who's counting. ;) anyways...
The Church is True!!!!! Jesus Cristo is our Savior!! and the book of Mormon is True!! I love you all!! and i hope you all have a great week!
eu amo voces!!!
Elder Wilson
hey michael, with all your free time, you should see how fast you can read the book of mormon!! i have always wanted to do that, but i always get caught up with other stuff. and i don't really have that kinda of time as a missionary. but, you should totally do that, it would be so sweet!!!!!!!!!!!
have fun dude!!!
September 1, 2010
hey everyone. so whats new this week? that totally sucks that michael had to get a screw in his mouth! is it really big? you should send some pics.
as for my comp and i, we are doing pretty good. nothing to new. although the other day i had a super amazing experience! so this kid that we are teaching, Sergio, he is part of the big family, completely blew me away on friday! we get to his house planning on inviting him to be baptized and to go over the 3rd lesson. so we start off the lesson and he just starts asking all kinds of questions. who was joseph smith? what did Christ mean when he said "other sheep i have which are not of this fold"? What does it mean to carry your cross? and if this, meaning the church, is the only way? after answering all of his questions, he busts out a few scriptures in the bible (this kid knows the bible better than i do!) around the theme of prayer. ask and ye shall receive... when two or more of you are gathered in my name there i will be also... stuff like that. then he says to use, "you two, are men of God, so if we pray right now, God will be with us." we agreed. then he said "so right now, we are all going to pray together. if this is true, i need to know so i can follow." so right then, we all knelt down and he offered one of the most amazing prayers i have ever heard! ( this whole time i was just blown away by the faith of this kid! i couldn't believe what he was proposing to us! it was freakin awesome!) and during that prayer i felt the spirit so strong. you could just say my whole body was on fire! it was truly amazing. so after the prayer i asked him how he felt. and unfortunately he felt nothing. so we went over how God will always answer us, but it will be in his time and his way. then we talked about baptism and that by accepting to get baptized and working towards a set date, then he would also be showing the Lord that he truly wants to know. and he accepted our invite to be baptized on the 11 of sept.! it was so sweet!!! now we just need to get the mom to church so she can get a baptismal date as well! so we are very excited for them.
other than that, the work is going on. lots and lots of door knocking!!!
thanks a ton for the letter.
well i hope you all have a great week!!! thanks for everything!! I love you all!!!
elder wilson
August 25, 2010
so i have some catching up to do because of last weeks "no" e-mail. Me and my comp are doing good. we have a baptism coming up on the 11th and hopefully another shortly after! we are currently teaching a family of 7. A mom and her 6 kids. 4 of the kids are over 8! so we are working hard and hoping and praying that all will work out with them so that they can get baptized soon. the oldest son, sergio, is totally solid! he liked church and really wants to know if the bom is true. and said he will definitely get baptized when he knows its true! so our next visit we want to give him a date to work towards. the mom, silvia, has to work on sundays, so we are trying to find a time with her for when she can come to church! but we are super excited for all of them.
oh, and last week, we were visiting a less active family and started talking about brazil. how my comp is going there, when the boy said, hey, i have a friend who is brazilian! No way!!! i said, where does he live!!? so right after our visit with them, we ran over to the house knocked on the door, and spent 45 min talking to the mom in Portugues!!!!!!!! it was so sick!!!!! i loved it!!!!! unfortunatley for me, i have totally lost my accent, but it was still so fun. and we have another visit tonight! so we are taking over a bom in portugues and it will be sweat!!!! you know what is funny, Marli, the mom, said she was going to hook me up with her niece, who lives in brasil! haha, yeah, i got a kick out of that.
so yes, my comp is still here, and i still continue to pray that he will get is visa soon. we are doing good though. my spanish continually gets better, and my portugues just kinda sits there and does nothing. and my english sucks! my comp is always correcting me. it's not as bad as it was when i was in brasil, but it isn't that great either.
well, i'm out of stuff to write,soooo.... i hope you all have a great week! thanks for the e-mails and for everything!! I love you all!!!!! the Church is true!!! the Book of Mormon is true!!!!! I challenge you all to talk to some one about the gospel and then see the blessing that come from it!!!!!! Amo Voces!!!

August 4, 2010
so this week has been quit interesting. lots of random and different things have happened.
so first of all, Thank you so much for the packages!!!!!! we got them Monday night!!! it was freakin awesome!!!!!! thanks for everything!! and those ties are pretty sweet to! and yes, i did get the birthday card. i got it a couple of weeks ago, but thank you so much! and please tell grandma and grandpa wilson thank you for the chocolates and the money!!!! and grandpa campbell! for my b-day, to be honest, we did nothing. just another normal day. but we really didn't have time to do anything anyways. i had even forgotten it was my birthday till about 8:45, while i was studying. anyways, we plan on making some cake and cookies today!
so i have been having a blast speaking to my comp in portugues!! it is freakin awesome! i will be sad when my "son" gets his visa and leaves, but also very happy for him because i know he will love Brasil just as much as i do! it is great because i my portugues is getting back up to speed, and my spanish is getting alot better because now i do all the talking basically, my comp doesn't speak any spanish and doesn't understand alot. so that kinda leaves it up to me, but he, my comp, teaches in portugues and the hispanics can usually understand him. so thats cool!
so the other day, when went by some old investigators that had been taught about a year ago by the missionaries. the parents aren't interested at all but said we could go by on sunday. so we dropped by and the parents were gone, but the kids were outside shoot hoops. so we started talking to them and then their 23 yr. old sister came out. so we contacted her and she was interested. so we shared a brief but powerful message about how the book of mormon is important and how she can find out through prayer! it was very cool and you could just see the spirit working on her!! she told us that she wanted to learn more and that she wanted to find out if it was true for herself!!! it was totally awesome! so we have a return appointment on saturday, but we will probably be teaching her at a library or somewhere else because her parents won't accept it. that's what she told us. so we are super stoked to talk to her again on saturday and are praying very hard that she will go "the distance".
and yesterday we also had another interesting exp. (my comp is just getting loaded with all kinds of crazy experiences in his first few weeks.) we go to our car, it was parked in front of some guys house while we were tracting, and the guys comes out and says," you know, after you pulled up i went inside and read for an hour stuff about you guys on the internet". then he just blew up!!! He yelled at us that we were brainwashed and that we worship multiple gods and all other kinds of crap! it was so crazy!! so i calmly told him we would like to sit down with him and explain what it is that we believe in. but he just kept on yelling at us telling us how crazy and screwed up we are. so we just walked away! but it was so crazy! i get sad by people like that. because the chances of them ever accepting the gospel are very slim, which means we will probably never see them in the celestial kingdom. but it did give us something to laugh at a little later after we got home. it's interesting how things like that always happen when you are knocking doors.
well family, i love you all so much!!! thanks for all of your love and support!!! i hope you all have a great week!!!!

Wow, so where do i begin....
Monday i got "E.T.ed". i was in a car all morning driving up to an area in the north, where i would wait for my new comp., who came striaght from the mtc! (fresh blood!) and he is waiting for his visa so he can go to..... guess where...!!!BRASIL!!!!!!!!!!! and guess what his portugues is pretty dang good! so we talk in portugues all the time!!!! it is soooooo nice to finally be able to use my portugues with someone! i was teaching my last comp, but it just isn't the same. My comps name is Elder Pearson by the way. he is from provo. so after meeting up with my comp, we then drove another 2 hrs to get to our new area. where niether of us have ever stepped foot before. but luckily we live with two elders who basically know what is going on up here. Now, I am living out in the middle of no where, or should i say, the middle of cornfields! (my comp says hi) We drive every where we go because it is all so stinkin far away! and yesterday ew were knocking doors for more than 2 hrs..... it was really long. but hopefully things will get better as we go. i'm sure they will.
so to be honest, i feel freakin old, but at the same time, i don't feel any different at all. so yeah. didn't really do anything yesterday. we don't have anything in the house to make, so i couldn't really make anything. but the Branch Presidents wife gave me a brownie with a candle in it, so that was cool. i probably won't get the packages till the 13 of august. that is when President is coming up here. and please tell grandma and grandpa wilson, and grandpa campbell and aunt lynette thanks for me! lynette sent some of her energy/protein bars. they were pretty good.
so since we are out here in the middle of nowhere, i will probably be forced to by a gps for my birthday, so we can find our way around. i hope they will have some cheap ones. we will probably go and look at those today.
well, thats about all the new stuff that is going on with me. i hope you are all doing good and that everyone is happy. thanks for all of the e-mails! it was great to hear from everyone!!!!
Eu Amo Voces!!!!!
take care!

so how is everyone enjoying the mountain? having lots of fun hanging out and riding 4 wheelers and all that good stuff. I'm sure you are.
so this week was super long and crazy, but really good. like i mentioned earlier we had a 4 day training meeting with the Pres, his wife and the assistants. all of the mission leaders were there, zone leaders, district leaders and trainers. it was really good. i learned alot! it was basically going over being good people teachers and not lesson teachers. basically went over stuff i already knew, but just more in depth and reminded me of things. I am definitely excited to put this stuff into practice. but needless to say, i am so tired though. 4 days straight of training meetings, sitting down the whole time, trying to stay awake. it was pretty intense.
So last night i received some awesome news!!! i got a letter from brasil from one of my companions. he sent me a picture of a man that got baptized that we had taught in my last area. he had been investigating the church for almost a year, but couldn't get baptized because he wasn't married to his "wife". so that was awesome to see that he got baptized! and he also told me that the family that we had found and started teaching there also got baptized!!!!! i was so excited!! i basically started cheering and laughing from excitement and happiness. My comp came running in the room, "what happened?'. it was pretty funny. but i am so happy to know that they got baptized! i don't remember how much i told you about them, but they are such an awesome family! unfortunately he didn't send me a pic, so i am going to write him and see if i can get one. that was such a cool experience though. to know that all the hard work and stress and love i felt for them had payed off. now, obviously it wasn't me that converted them, i was just there and the spirit worked through me and the other elders that came after. but i guess the amazing thing is knowing that they made the decision to follow the Savior and get baptized! it just made me so happy. I LOVE MISSIONARY WORK! it truly brings the greatest happiness. i wish you all could have felt what i felt last night. just the immense joy and rejoicing that came to my heart!!! the happiness that comes from knowing that they are following our Savior!!!!! it is awesome!!!!! there truly are not words to describe it!! needless to say, it was freaking awesome! and now we have to go back to visit Brasil!!!! i have so many people to see and that i want you guys to meet!!!!!
so right now we are teaching an argentinan lady. her friend from utah referred her to us. she is totally awesome! she is excited to learn and is reading the scriptures. during our lessons, her friend from utah calls and sits in on the speaker phone and helps us out. it's pretty cool! we are totally excited to teach her.
well everyone, i hope you have lots of fun at the reunion. I Love you all! thanks for the e-mails and everything!!!! A Igreja e Verdadeira!! Jesus Cristo e nosso Salvador!!!!! e O Livro de Mormon e verdadeiro!!!! Amo voces!!!

Hey everyone! whats up? so what is new down on the wilson roundabout?
so where is Elder Hawks going on his mission. is he in the country or out of it? Brasil?
So i am doing good. nothing to new around here. me and my comp are getting along good. and i am the dd! (designated driver) how crazy huh. so when ever we do take the car, which isn't alot, i drive. Driving in chicago is pretty interesting, but not to bad. at least i am a better driver than my last comp. he scared me!. wow, well like i said, not to much new is going on around here. yes, i am still zone leader.
this up coming week we are going to do a big training meeting. 4 days to be exact! so i will be out of my area for 4 days. so i will e-mail next week on friday. okay.
sorry that this is super short. but i am drawing lots of blanks.
the work continues like always, my portugues continues to get screwed up because of freakin spanish ;). but all is going well. How is michael likin his job? how do you like workin lots of hours?
well, love ya all! the church is true!!!

So when do I come home?....July 7, 2010
so this week we have transfers. my comp got transfered to a new area and i am waiting for my new comp to show up. to be honest, i'm kinda scared. i don't know how i am going to keep the work going like my last comp was. we both thought he would finish up here with me, and then for my last transfer i would take over... but...nope. it was really hard for my comp to leave, he was very emotional about it. especially because he only has two transfers left. so i hope all will go well. and i hope my new comp speaks spanish better than i do. ;) so my new comps name is e. horlacker. I met him once, he is from the "south side of the mission" (what used to be the south mission). hopefully all will go well.
so, naturally, being a mission and serving the latin people, we always ask them how the world cup games are going (soccer). and i was pretty sad to find out that brasil lost. but sunday was even worse! all of the members came up to me and where just like, "sorry elder, your team lost". all of them! i was surprised to see that so many people new i love brasil. i guess I forget who knows i was in Brasil and who doesn't.
so my date to arrive at home is.... yes, novmber 11. sorry about that. it pretty much sucks that i will miss out on the trip with you guys, but oh well. and sorry i didn't tell you earlier. so no mom, it's not just a joke. :) but it's only an extra 6 weeks. It is obviously the Lords will so, I will go and do the thing that the Lord commands.;) (what scripture is that? ;) )
Well, other than that, there isn't a whole lot going on. the work continues to go forward. we are kinda of having a hard time finding people that can "go the distance". and our recent convert, Leo, decided to tell us the other day that he isn't sure if the bom is true or if Joseph was a profeta. so we had a very "intense" lession, trying to help him understand the importance of things and all other kinds of stuff that would just take way to long to write. but we keep praying for him and hope that he will figure everything out.
well, i hope all is going well at home. don't have to much fun with out me. I love you all! Remember, The Church is True!!!! and the Book of Mormon is the word of God!!!! have a great week! Amo Voces!!!

E AI! BELEZA!? June 23, 2010
Actually.... The new bike is Awesome!!!!! I really love it. and it is a good thing that i got it because my other bike that my comp was using got destroyed yesterday. okay, not exactly destroyed, but some how the shaft on the cranks, inside the bike, broke in half while we were riding. so we had to walk back home and then go in search of a bike for him (calling the assistants) , get the bike, spend half the day fixing it and getting it ride able, and then go back to work. My comp has really bad luck with bikes. so even though all that happened yesterday, we still had a good day. we found a girl to teach and we had a very good lesson with her. she is pretty opened minded but doesn't like "organized religion". she says they always diminish woman. anyways, we taught her and hopefully she reads the bom and gets an answer.
today for pday... it is raining. :( so yeah, that pretty much bites. i had finally talked my comp in to going over to the lake with the other elders to play soccer and hang out, but now that won't happen. He doesn't like to ride bike anymore than we have to, and the other elders always going over to the lake to play soccer on the beach and fish and stuff, so we usually end up doing nothing by ourselves, which really bites. but oh well, maybe since it is raining we can still go and see what the other elders are doing.
so on saturday we had a baptism. it went pretty good. except that nobody showed up for it. there where 3 members there. and then the elders. so i felt bad for Leo, but it is the ordinance that is important, not who is there. and i think he realizes that, then in sacrament meeting i confirmed him a member. that was pretty crazy to do in spanish. but it was cool. it all went well.
so yeah, starting in July the missions will combine! so then i can say that i served in 3 different missions, and learned 2 new languages! cool! so that will be pretty interesting. i am finally getting to where i know about half of the missionaries and now i have a whole other mission to get to know. it will be pretty cool.
guess what, i got another letter from Brasil yesterday! it was awesome!!! it was from one of my comps! that totally made my day.
so michael, how do you like working for brad? mom said you put in 11.5 hrs the other day! wow!! i remember doing that. it's hard and tiring, but the pay check REALLY makes it worth it. what were you doing? was it a finish or an underground? hopefully a finish, those where my favorites, and working long hours on those isn't bad. have you done roof drains yet? good luck with those.
So i have decided that when i get home and start going to college, i want to do something with languages. i already speak 3, so i figured i might as well use the talent the lord has given me. i want to learn french now, i should be able to pick it up fairly easily, i think. :) it's interesting that as the time slowly gets closer for me to go home, i am felling more ready to go back and start studying and jump into life. I know it will be super hard to leave and stop being a missionary, but i feel more ready to take the next step in life. although, before i start studying to much we have to go and visit Brasil! so first i have to get home, start working and save up money for that! then college! :)
well, i hope you all have a great day and week!!! I love you all!! the Church is True!!! Jesus Cristo is our Savior!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY + FATHER'S DAY...... June 16, 2010
Wow, 43 huh!! dang...... your getting old. ;) hahahaha, watch out, i'm gonna be able to whoop ya in bball with your old age. so you got some fab freddy tokens huh, anything else sweet? are you getting anything for fathers day? and if so... have you already guessed it like usuall? What is it? so what's this "weapon" you got from Grandma?
well, once again i am wracking my brain, trying to figure out what i will write. i started a letter at the laundry cleaners and so i am trying to remember what i already wrote so i don't write it again. this week was pretty much like any other week. lots of work, talking to people, helping other missionaries, going on exchanges with the assistants and a distrct leader. and feeling like we are always running around. mean while the carpet is being changed in our house so everything is crammed into two small rooms. (namely the 2 couches, our big study table, 3 other tables we use for personal study, our two beds, dressers, and other odds and ends) It will be nice once it is done. i feel like i haven't been able to relax at home because there is no seats to sit on and it looks really messy. but once the carpet is done and all is back in it's place it won't be or look messy.
so one of our investigators, Leo, is set to get baptized this saturday at 3. so we are very excited for him. He is doing really well. it is kinda funny though, we found that we have to mark massive parts in the book of mormon for him to read, or he won't really read it and then he likes to take up all our time just talking about weird things. but if we mark a huge part (like from 3 nefi 11 to 4 nefi) he reads it all (in two days), and he has lots of questions and we have really good lessons. so that's the technic we are using with him. get him to completely divulge himself in the Book of Mormon. He is doing really well though. he is really our only investigator that is really going anywhere at the moment. hopefully the rest will start progressing. Elder Montez did find two new investigators yesterday, while we were on exchanges with the assistents, so hope fully they read and go to church and all.
so yes, i bought a bike. i will go and pick it up today. so i am pretty excited about that, and no michael, you can't have my haro. :) but i still love ya! :) and so i still owe about 300 on it, because i only did half last time, well almost half. so hopefully i have money in my account. Sorry, i guess i kinda bought it at a bad time huh. i should have asked around to know how the stock market is doing. ;) hopefully i won't have to use anymore of the money in my account, for the rest of my mission. so we'll see. today for my shopping i was able to keep it all under 10 bucks! so that was awesome! and don't worry, we do have food mom, i just have stuff left over from last week still. well, seeing as how i am going on about nothing again...
So it is pretty funny, alot of the elders always complain about how humid it is here, and one was pretty positive that it would be more humid here than in Brazil, but up till now, i have loving the weather! Not a big fan of riding bike in the rain, but other than that it is awesome! and not nearly as humid as brazil. i did exchanges with this elder on friday and he was completely dying and i was just like, it's awesome right now! it was pretty funny. but i do tend to sweat more when riding bike than when walking.
i Hope all is going well for everyone! good luck working with Brad mike! be sure and tell him hi for me.
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND FATHERS DAY DAD!!!!! thanks for all that you have done and that you do for me! for all of your advice and being willing to help me with anything. I love you and hope that you have a great week and fathers day! Feliz Dia dos Pais!!! TE AMO
I love you all, have a great week!!!

Hey chanae, Kalle Kolb (?), who used to work at seagull with you, is a sister missionary here in my mission. interesting huh. just a random fact.
so this week was good. i am glad it is pday, although we arent going to do alot. last night i had a really cool exp. we were trying to find a less active member and we knocked on his door. this big, tattooed, fairly intimidating guy came out and we talked to him and he went back in. (the member doesn't live there anymore to say the least) so we start to leave, we get about 10 steps aways from the door when the door opens again. a guy named Rick comes out and starts talking to us. he said that something told him he should come out and talk to us. we explained what he felt was the Holy Ghost and then started to tell him that God loves him, as he started to cry, and that He has a plan for him. he then let us in to the stair well (he was at his sisters house and there were alot of people over) and we taught him a quick lesson. it was a very powerful lesson! after the lesson we invited him say the closing prayer and to ask to know that he book of mormon was true, and he did. Wow! It was an amazing prayer! very powerful! the spirit was so strong!!! I have never had an investigator pray like that before! then he sent us over to his girlfriend or x wife (don't know which yet) to talk to her. so we ran over there, now about 8:50 pm. we start tallking to her and she is very interested as well. it was pretty cool! both of these people are ready to hear the gospel! it is amazing how the Lord was guiding us to that house, and we had know idea!
other than that it has just been another normal week basically. although, i will probably have to buy a bike today because my comp needs a new one, his is a piece and won't last much longer. so i told him he could use the one i have know and i would buy one, because he doesn't really have the means to buy one and he is going home soon. so we will take his old bike in and another piece of crap bike we have at home to see if we can traid them in for a discount. anyways... i hope you all have a great week. I love you all!!!!!!
mom, maybe you should just go to bed! :)
Love ya!!

June 2, 2010
so this has been quiet the interesting week. i am glad it is finally pday! we have been so busy!!! it's crazy!!! i don't know if i have ever been so tired in my mission! well, i'm sure i have been, it's just been a while. :) we have been running from app. to app., trying to prepare things for zone conference, get the house organized, along with our area, plan for the week (which should take about 3 hrs, but it took us almost 3 different days to do it because of app. and we still aren't done yet, and tomorrow we plan all over again). so yeah. but it has been fun. we have two investigators on date to get baptized. the 19 of June. so we are excited for that. they are progressing very well and working hard.
thanks so much for the package! we have already made some of the cookies and the blueberry muffins! it was awesome!! thanks a ton! the dmv records, just send to the mission office. and if you have any problems try calling the mission office and see what they say to do.oh, and dad can pose as me, my name is Brent Wilson. :)
and i actually gave the "new" short sleeve shirts to my other comp before i left so it's all good.
well, i only have 9 min. left, so i am trying to think of everything i can to tell you and i all i can do is draw a blank. uh oh, 8 min. :)
yesterday we taught an awesome lesson! it was to a guy and his kids. the guy is from iraq, and his wife is mexican (but she wasn't there). so taught them and it was an awesome lesson! very powerful! and the guy was very interested and said that he would definetly read the book of mormon! we were stoked! and then we helped a member move! it was pretty crazy! took about 4 hrs to. we had to go to home depot with her to help her rent a truck and then throw all the junk in it. it was cool.
oh, and something random, listen to Glenn Beck's conversion story. it is way good! we just got done listening to it. it was pretty cool. it was put out by deseret book.
well ,4 min to go, soooo.......
I hope you all have a great week and that all is going well! thanks for all the emails everyone!!!! oh and dad, don't get your hopes up about winning at bball! ;) i'll school ya!!!!t

Transfered 2x!.....May 26, 2010
wazup everyone. HAHAHAHA!!!! DALLIN GOT HIS BUTT KICKED!!!!!!!! way to go dad, show dallin who's boss!!!
so this last week on friday, president called me and told me i was going to be emergency transfered to an area a little more north, and that i would also be transfered again on wednesday, today. so for about 5 days my comp. was a cool tongan elder. we had alot of fun and worked pretty good. then yesterday president called me and told me i would be transfered back to the same ward i was in previously, just a different area in the ward, and i would be serving as a zone leader. :"WHAT?!" yeah, i was really surprised. i figured i would just finish my mish as a sr. comp. but i guess not. so i'm a little nervous, but excited. and i already know my comp a little bit, so i think we will work good together. and i will be in a car like half the time, so i decided to not buy a bike and just wait and see what happens when i get home. yeah, i will admit, i was kinda bummed that i decided to not buy a bike, but it's all good. riding in a car is cool to.
so other than that, not a whole lot is going on with me. i haven't got the package yet, because i am a ways from the mission office, but i will probably get it today. oh, and i now have a new address, but i don't know what it is. soo... yeah.
oh, and any e-mails sent to my old e-mail, will just be automatically forwarded to this one. i believe. but yeah, i did get an e-mail from mike, but not from dallin. did you guys get the pics i sent last week? i just used the e-mail on the comps at the i mac place cause it was easier and i couldn't figure out how to attach it on my email.
so michael thinks he's gonna graduate huh? Crazy! that is really wierd to think that i am already that old. crap man. so your gettin hooked up with brad huh? that's pretty cool. i think you'll enjoy it. and yeah, you can use my tools, just don't loose any of them. do you know what he is going to have you do? like undergrounds, or finishes? let me know how ya like it.
so is dallin excited for the summer? and then he will be a junior! good luck, junior year is tough. but you got a whole summer to play and not worry about it.
hey, so have you guys gone back to that brazilian restaurant? come on man, you can't let me down! :)
so you can tell, once again i have come to that point when i am running out of things to write. oh, so chicago has a TON of cotton wood trees! it's crazy! there is always cotton flying all over the place and getting stuck to your sweaty face while your cruising at high speeds on your bike. it's really interesting. and at some of the parks, the grass is just all white because of all the cotton. it's pretty cool.
well anyways. we have to head back to our apartment to meet up with my new comp and go to my new area. so I hope you all have a great week!! Michael, Congrats on your Graduation and Happy 18 th Birthday bro!!! have a blast at grad night!!!! be sure and come up with a good pose for your pic!
take care everyone!!!! AMO VOCES!!!!!!!!

May 19, 2010
so how is everyone doing? how is the weather down there? it's finally starting to get warm here. today is like 72 degrees and the rest of the week is supposed to be in the 70's and the 80's by sunday! i am so glad to finally be able to wear a short sleeve shirt! so today we are probably going to go play soccer or some other kind of sport. dunno yet, but i am really hungry, so we will probably go get some mcdonalds. :) oh, and i finally got my card from the mission. so i do have money now and don't have to use my card. so that was good.
and did i tell you i got a back pack? i think i wrote that in the letter i will send today. anyways, i got a sweet backpack! it was like 70 bucks, but it is way nice and i can totally use it for college when i get home! I bought it at a Burton snowboarding store. it's cool.
so we are teaching a girl named jamie. her and her mom. she is progressing really well and she had a baptismal date for the 29th, but she wants to move it back a little bit. so we will go and talk to her tonight about it. but we are still very excited for her.
i got a letter from grandma and grandpa yesterday. tell them thanks for me and i will try to get them a letter out by next week.
so about that lady from brasil, Damiana, try emailing her again, and give her my address and ask her for hers, so i can write her and see whats up.
so i am going to see if i can send some pics home from here. i am at the apple store, so we will see what happens. oh, and i might go to look at a bike today. i saw a sweet bike that i really want to get and it wasn't really expensive. so we will see. well if you can't tell i am really stretching to find stuff to write about. so i guess i will end my letter for today. so i hope you all have a great week and that lots of cool stuff happens so that you can tell me all about it next week. only a 134 days left. crazy huh. i am reading the doctrine and covenants backwards, going by how many days i have left. so yeah, thats how i know. it's so i can keep myself on track so i can work my butt off everyday!
Well, I love you all and hope you guys are doing good! go and tell tator hi for me! The church is true!!! Jesus Cristo is our Savior and Redeemer! The Book of Mormon is true!! be sure and read it everyday!!! EU AMO VOCES!!!!!! UM ABRACAO!!!!!

p.s... Micheal, Dude!!! i can't believe you are going to graduate already! be careful man, because after this, time flies like crazy!!!! but live it up, have fun at your graduation and at Grad night! Congratulations!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Love ya Dude!!!!!!
May 12, 2010
hey everyone! how's life treatin ya? did the jazz lose again? hope not.
I am doing good. this week has been going by really fast. and because i just barely talked to everyone on sunday i don't have a whole lot to report. but i will do my best.
today for p day we are here at the apple store in downtown chicago, e-mailing, and then we will head over to the mall so my comp can buy some shoes, he's really needing some!, and while we are there i will be looking for a backpack. i don't know how much longer mine will hold up. so hopefully i can find something cheap. and all of the other elders want to go eat at the Donald Trump tower or the Handcock (which is one the 97th floor!) but i don't know if i want to because i dont have any money, and i already had to use my card today to get some money to go shopping later. hopefully i will get my mission card soon. it really sucks not having it. so that will be my p day today probably. we can't do alot because it is really cloudy and it is supposed to rain today. but finally by the weekend it should be nice and clear and about 65 degrees. Finally! I've been freezing lately.
One of the other elders that works in my area is going home next transfer, and he will be leaving his bike in the mission for a different elder, my comp might try to snag it, but he let us ride it for the day yesterday to see how we like it basically. it is a single speed and it was pretty sweet. so that did not help me out at all with my decision to buy a bike, because i really liked riding his. and we had to go to a bike shop yesterday to buy some parts cause my comp got a flat. so then i got caught checkin out all the sweet bikes. anyways... i dont know what i am going to do yet.
so if you can't tell i have aready run out of things to say. oh yeah, chanae wants me to write some thing for grandpa huh.
hey, when Tim gets down there tell him... eu mandei um abraco!
Actually mom, something you could throw in would be my spanish crap from high school. that is if it fits. it's in michaels closet in a red folder. and then some random goodies are always welcome. :) thanks a ton! and did you by any chance get a package sent out to my comp, Elder Oliveira, in Brasil? if not it's okay, i think that he would really apreciate one and could use one more than i could though.
Well, i hope you guys have a great week and that all is going good! Amo Voces!! Se-Cuidan!

Hey 4 Eyes!....May 5, 2010
Well,... first of all, happy 5 de mayo! today for 5 de mayo/ p day we are going to be playing soccer with a bunch of other elders and then go some where to eat. so that should be fun. if we don't get rained out. today, actually just barely i got my hair cut. and it is really short! wow.... a sister from the ward, who has a salon cut it. she did a two on the sides! yeah, its short. while she was cutting it, i was watching and pretty much just freaking out the whole time because it totally looked like a mexican hair cut! so then when she finished i had to tell her to take more off the top so it wouldn't look to mexican. hahah but it looks good, just super short. but in two weeks it'll grow out.
so the game last week was a lot of fun. the cubs lost 3-2 unfortunately but it was still fun.
so we have had some changes up her. they are called GLASSES!!! i don't know if you noticed but i had to buy some glasses, and i used my card to do it. crazy huh! who would have thought that i would need glasses! definetly not me, and guess what..... I dont have glasses!!!! hahahahah my comp had to get them and didn't have any money so i payed for him and then he payed me back later. you guys that i had to get glasses, what are you crazy! i have perfect eye sight! gosh!! anyways, my comp has been having headaches later and realized that he couldn't read signs from far away. so he got some specs. they're pretty cool to.
thats totally gay that the Jazz are losing. dang man. que porcaria!
so yeah, we are still getting doors slammed in our faces. i have actually only been let in once the entire time i have been out here. but it's all good. we do more contacting in the streets because we have more success that way.
so i have decided that i really like biking. it's alot of fun! so i have a question for you. i really want to get a good road bike, and then i would be able to use it at home to ride to work and stuff when i get back. and then i would totally save on gas money and what not. so i was thinking, if i want to buy a bike when i get home, why not get a good one now, then i can get lots of good use out of it, and then ship it home and keep using it. but then i think, well i already have a bike that will get my by. so i don't know. what do you guys think i should do? let me know what your thoughts are.
anyways.. i am kinda running out of things to say, and i will be talking to you guys on sunday soooo, yeah. and i will be calling you guys, so don't worry about that. i will probably call around...7:00 pm. my time. which would be like 5 your time. sound good? if not, well.... i hope it does because there really is no way of you guys getting a hold of me. unless you send a letter in the mail by tomorrow and it gets here saturday :) but hopefully that is good.
well have a good week! i love you all!!!!
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MOM!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you have a great day!!!! Talk to ya then!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!
have a great week everyone. eu amo voces!!!

Querida Familia....April 28, 2010
thanks for the e-mails! i was really sad to hear about josh's mom. i hope the family is doing okay.
so yeah, i heard that the thunder tied up the lakers! how crazy is that. do they even have anyone good on the team. that would be cool if they couldv'e won it.
so i am doing okay. all the latin people out here just eat spicy foods! man, it never ends. my mouth is always burning and the after effect hasn't changed much. but i am slowly getting used to it. but man, what i wouldn't give for some rice and beans right now. yesterday we had two dinner appointments! it was crazy, i have gained 8 lbs since the last week! so that should make you happy mom. i now weigh 141. so yeah.
letters take about 3 days to get here. so that is way nice, but it also really sucks to come home everyday and check the mail box and never have anything. hahaha.. but it's all good. it's like the best two years, "it would be nice if they would put the bills in my name, then i would get something once in a while!" (just kidding) :) but the elders said that if you were to send any big packages, then to send them to the mission office. oh, and thankyou so much for my mp3!!! i finally have music!!!!!!
so i am finally getting used to the whole biking thing. but my butt always hurts! as well as my legs. the other day we walked into a bike store to buy some patches, my comp had a flat, and i saw this awesome road bike! i totally wanted to buy it! it was so sick! but it was like 350 bucks, and i already have a bike, so i had to walk away, but it was sweet.
today for our pday i am going to the chicago cubs game! sweet huh! i will be sitting over by the pole by first base. but my comp has some sweet tickets! him and some other elders will be about fifth row up from third base! they were 50 dollar tickets, and he had them before i showed up, so me and some other elders got these ones. i am excited though. my first pro baseball game, and its at wrigley field. so that will be sweet!
so chicago doesn't have amazing fruit or food or beaches like brasil, but it has some freakin sweet cars!!! wow, i have seen some awesome cars driving down the road! it's pretty sweet. one day when i am out of the rat race, i am going to come to chicago in my sweet car and drive down the roads! hahahaha... and then go shopping in downtown at the miraculous mile, or on michigan street. they have some sweet stores.
michael seriously borrowed money from dallin!!! hahahahahaha!!!!!!! how pathetic!!!!!! come on mikey!!! get a job! hahahaha... just kidding. but seriously, its one thing to do it from like mom or dad, but from dallin. wow. you really must be desperate!!! STOP SPENDING MONEY ON GIRLS!!!!!!! :)
how are the jazz doing in the playoffs? they still in it? i hope so! let me know how they are doing.
so my spanish is actually getting better, i am using less portuguese to talk to people now, and more actual spanish, but it still through portugues in there sometimes and people get a little lost, but its all good. so there is a store here that is like way cheap and they sell macaroni and cheese for 35 cents a box. so in other words, we are eating mac and cheese alot! or we go and buy mcdonalds, there dollar menu is pretty sweet. you know, i didn't think that i would ever say this, but i have actually craved mcdonalds while i have been out here. wierd huh, its actually kinda gross. but oh well. its cheap and easy.
well ,once again i have written you guys another novel. i hope you thoroughly enjoy it! :) have a great week. oh, and be sure and go by that brazilian restaurant this week. you guys gotta keep in touch with that hot chick, Aline, so when i come home i can date her! anyways, have a great week! let me know how the jazz are doing! until next week!!! Love you all!!!!!! a igreja e verdadeira!!!!! se-cuida!

Wazsup!?...April 22, 2010
So yes, and no, i do still feel a little like a greenie but not as much. i am finally getting used to our area and the Spanish is getting easier. it still isn't nearly as easy as Portuguese, but it is coming along. you know what, i really miss teaching about the gospel in Portuguese. it's really weird, but i just miss it. it's not the same in any other language, i guess you could say that Portuguese is like my holy language in a way. hahaha... but I'm sure with time i will come to like Spanish to, but i think i will just leave English behind;).
So this week was good. nothing to crazy happened. although my comp. broke his bike. we were leaving the library last week and he started peddling and his frame broke. weird huh. it wasn't just a part of the bike, but his frame! so luckily we had an extra (girl) bike at home and he used that until we could get a different bike from some elders that live up north a little bit. so on friday we went and got that bike and it is a lot better. he really ditches me now! i will have my bike in the highest gear, peddling as fast as i can and he can still waste me. but he has a better bike and bigger tires, so it's all good. but yeah, i will totally have awesome legs and a butt when i get home! SWEET!!!!!! hahahaha...
So i don't technically live in down town Chicago. i live pretty close though. it's about 20 min on bikes. down town is way crazy, it's pretty cool to see all the big buildings, the Hancock, and the Trump. and it is way crazy during rush hour. you do not want to be down there in a car during that time, it would suck.
Oh yeah, so what i said last week, about Americans being rude, i take that back, it's the Polish people that are jerks! the true Americans aren't bad, decent people, but the Polish people are just down right rude to your face. it's really sad. apparently they used to have polish speaking missionaries here, but they hadn't had a baptism in over 30 years, so they closed it. crazy huh. the Polish people are really closed and hard hearted. basically they were born Catholic and will die catholic and they have no idea why. but luckily i don't work with them, I just run into them knocking on doors and such.
So the weather in Chicago is messed up! it will be like in the low 60's one day, then the next day it's 85, then it will drop down to the 50's or 60's again. huh, I just want HOT weather! today isn't bad. it was cold this morning, so i am currently wearing a sweater and my suit coat, but that is mainly because of the wind. i think i would actually enjoy Chicago if it wasn't for the wind here. i could totally live here and buy nice bike and just bike everywhere, because it is all so flat out here, except for the wind, and the winter of course. but i am enjoying myself.
The food isn't bad, the Mexican food that is. i like it but they always make it so spicy! i think the spices will kill me before anything else does. In Brasil they don't eat spicy food, so i am not really used to it. On Monday i had, basically, some chicken soup, and they served it with a bunch of lettuce and other stuff to throw in the soup. well i say, what i thought to be, green bell peppers, so i throw a few spoon fulls in. but come to find out, it was these super spices jalapenos! yeah, i almost died when i tried to eat. i lost the feeling in my tongue, my face got red, i started sweating. and the family could tell what was going on and they half laughed and told me to dump it out and got some fresh soup, But, i am a missionary!, so i forced myself threw it! wow, it was tough. by the end of the night, i couldn't taste anything and my mouth and lips were on fire. Oh, and when it came out the next day....wow, it burned just as much!!!
Chanae!!! i need you to read pg 742 of Jesus the Christ. (you will like this one dad!) it says that the last nephite battle took place near the hill cumorah in NEW YORK, by the place where Moroni buried the plates!!! and that is basically doctrine because it was written by an apostle and it has the church name on the back!!! so hah!!!!!!! GOT YA! (just wanted to let you know that dad and I are right) :) LOL.
Well all, i hope you enjoy the book i wrote you. i hope it brings you lots of laughs:) Have a great week and enjoy the nice weather of Ivins for me. Eu sei que esta e a Igreja verdadeira!! Jesus Cristo e Nosso Salvador do mundo! e o Livro de Mormon e verdadeiro!!! Eu amo voces!!!!

I'm a greenie again!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!! ...... April 14,2010
So how is everyone doing? i'm doing good. the weather is finally getting warmer here! so that is good. today is supposed to be like 70 something. all of the other elders have already taken there suit coats off, except for me. the wind here can still be cold and the weather changes really fast, so will take my chances wearing my coat. and i feel really cool in it! lik a real legite missionary! hahahaha... so yeah, last week it did in fact snow on us, while we were riding our bikes. it was crazy! and i almost froze to death i think, got a nice cold wich i am currently fighting, and i am so happy to be back out in the field! no mom, you don't need to send me a coat. an elder gave me a sweater. so in between the sweater and my suit coat, i made it through the cold. oh, and another thing... don't call my mission president about little stupid things like that okay:) i'm not mad, just letting you know he is very busy and the Lord will take care of me. But thanks for worrying anywas. :)
so i was able to buy a bike off of an elder going home. i bought it for 40 bucks, which isn't bad at all for a bike out here. although it is a mountain bike and it's kinda heavy, so i get a real work out keeping up with my comp. i almost decided to buy a good street bike, but then i figured it's only five months, why waste the money. so i am good with the bike i have and getting used to riding it around. my butt is way sore though! and my legs! at night all i want to do is sit down and stretch my letgs out!
so chicago is quit different than Brasil. the people aren't nearly as open and accepting to the gospel, but at least i am speaking spanish. the hispanic people are way nicer and accepting than the americans! man, americans are jerks! like no joke.sadly to say, I'm not as proud to be an american. anyways.. i can now say i have truly had the experience of someone slamming the door in your face. it kinda sucks but you get over it and move to the next door, and then the next door, and then the next door, and the next door....etc...
so my companions story is very interesting. His mission call was to go to mongolia! he was at the mtc for 3 months learning mongolian and then the week before he left the mtc let the elders in his group know that they would be reassinged due to visa problemas! so we have just about the coolest companionship in the world you could say. an elder who's call was to mongolia and one who's call was to brasil end up together in chicago! crazy huh. so there is obviously a reason that i am with him in this area.
so did i tell you i feel like a new greenie. i'm learning a new language, a new area, new types of food (mexican/HOT), new people, riding bikes..... it's crazy! My comp is technically a greenie! this week starts his second transfer in the field!!!! how crazy, and he is almost training me. i say that talking about the language and the area. but even in the lessons i let him kinda take charge cause i still tend to get lost. spanish is really similar to port. like extremely. except that the words are harder(?) like the sound is a harder sound. not a soft sound like in portugues. so instead of talking all eloguently like in portuguese, i feel like i am talking like a hick that doesn't know how to pronounce his words in port. the two languages are very similar. i can usually understand everything, except when they start talking really fast and depending on their accent. but i am hopping that i will have spanish down by the end of this transfer, if not sooner. I am really praying tha the Lord will help me.
hey, did i leave my mp3 at home. i can't find it. if i did, would you please send it to me, along with the usb cord which is probably in dads room. he used it the day i left to transfer the stuff from the recording device, the usb cord. we only have two cds in our house and i already hate both of them. hahaha.. anyways, well i hope you thoroughly enjoy this book i have written. especially you Mom!!!!!! tell everyone hi for me and that i love them! thanks for everything !!! i love you all!!!

Sup guys!.....April 7, 2010
I'm not in Utah anymore! or Brasil for that matter!! so i did make my plane last night. amazingly. the plane from salt lake was late and we landed in cincinnati at 7:30. so ran to the other building and they were calling my name as a last call right when i got there. so once again, i was the last one on the plane. but its all good.
so guess what, i am going to be speaking spanish. the Pres. threw me in as a senior comp. to a junior who has only been out for a couple of months. crazy huh. but he is mexican, so he speaks spanish. which is really good. so i think that i am really going to like it here. except for the fact that it is freakin cold, oh, and it is supposed to snow tomorrow! great..... anyways, oh yeah, i also have to buy a bike. so i hope i have some money in my acount. i will probably do that today, i'm hoping to find a cheap one. but i think the cheapest i will get is about 300 or so. and then i have to get a helmet and locks. so yeah, it should be fun. i really think that this will be quit the experience. i am excited and a little stressed, but it should be good. so wednesdays are now my new p days. today i have had the chance to see a little bit of chicago. its huge, and everything looks expensive. apparently you have to watch out for shoe shining fanatics in the streets. hahaha so yeah.
oh, and my first area is in downtown chicago. so i will be on a bike the whole time i am out here. i think i am going to get really sore. well, i hope all is well back home, since i left yesterday.:) Mom, don't freak out to much, i will be home in 5 months. ;) i love you all! have a great week! a igreja e verdadeira!!! Jesus Cristo e nosso Salvador! peace out!

(Kidney stones? Or just chutado nas bolas?)
It was a gloomy rainy morning in the missionaries’ home in
11:30 a.m.
Upon arriving at the mission office Elder Wilson waited around for about 1 hr for his President to arrive to talk to him. Then one of the secretaries, franticly working, asked when his plane would be going home. With an extremely shocked look on his face he replied, “What are you talking about? I’m not going home!” But unfortunately to his finding out, he was going home. His flight left in an hour. So in between frantic driving from the mission office to the home of the mission Pres., then to the airport, he missed his flight.
His flight was rescheduled to leave his beloved Brasil on Monday afternoon and he would arrive in his home town of
Over the next 2 weeks he would go through surgery, pass many kidney stones and be home sick for the mission life, all the awesome Brazilian foods and weather, and the language of Portuguese. Being home brought new obstacles for Elder Wilson. Keeping the mission rules, drinking lots of water, but most of all, speaking English. He came to find out that he couldn’t speak proper English anymore. “It just aint comin out right!” he would exclaim in frustration and then rattle something off in Portuguese. And he would find out that it would be very difficult to return to his same mission in Brasil, and that he would possibly be re assigned. But amongst all the heart ache and pain of being home and not in the mission field, he knew that his Lords will would be done and that he would be sent back out where the Lord most needed him to serve.
So amongst all of my hard trials, passing stones, and speaking English, I know even more in my heart that this is the true church of God. And even though sometimes we don’t know why things happen, our Heavenly Father is watching over us and will take care of us. His will is greater than ours, and he sees the bigger picture. I am grateful for the time I had in Brasil! I love that country and have considered, in a very bug way, moving back to live there! All though my mom hates the idea, we’ll just have to see what happens! I love you all!! And be sure and drink plenty of water so you guys don’t have to go through the same private aching pains of kidney stones! Ate mais! Jesus Cristo e’ nosso Senhor e Redentor!!!

The longest two months of his mission!!

of the missionaries that go home

Elder Wilson got home on Feb 9th, had his surgery Feb 11th and was well enough to be headed back to Brazil on Feb 14th. But then there was the waiting!
Elder Wilson did get to see his best friend Elder Jolley come home from his mission on Feb 10th, the day after he got home. And we were at the airport to greet Elder Morwood and went to his homecoming in Beaver.
Elder Wilson went to work with his comp (his Mom) everyday, except for those rare occasions that Chanae or Brent were off work. He also was able to serve in the Temple and work in the Bishop's Store House.
We did help Elder Wilson celebrate his 18 month mark on March 17th. He burned 4 pairs of dress slacks (that his mom said he was NEVER wearing again.) and we went to lunch at the Made in Brazil Restaurant. It was very very yummy. The drinks were sooooooo good.
Elder Wilson got word that he would not be retuning to Brazil. Instead he would finish his mission in the Illinois Chicago North Mission. He boarded a plane out of here on April 6th and was very excited to get back to mission life.
us there waiting for him at the SLC airport.
He thought we were still in Hawaii.
St. George. As you can tell, Elder Wilson has lost some weight.
All that walking!
well that's not what Elder Wilson was thinking.
He was instantly homesick for Brazil, and he was freezing. When we walked out
to board the plane from SLC to St. George he said
"Holy Cow....I can see my breath!"
Welcome home party since the Mom was out of town.
And She did a Great Job!
came home from his mission.
singing to himself!
the newly planted lawn. I guess
there was some raking involved too.
Here we are eating at the Made in Brazil Restaurant.
Elder Wilson was Loving the Food and
conversing with the waitress in Portuguese.

Here is Elder Wilson Burning his slacks with some help
from his Senior Comp (Dad) who provided some fuel for the
FIRE!
to finish off the last 5 months of his mission.
He is going to Chicago Illinois!!
