Oi familia,
Como está todo mundo? whats new? not much new is going on here. basically the same old stuff, work, work, work, and baptisms. oh and muito stress. but it's going good.
this week on saturday we baptized a woman named Débora. she has been going to church for more than a year now and was never baptized because she had 17 years and her mom wouldn't sign the form. but she made 18 yrs. in July and still wasn't baptized because she didn't like Elder Pereira. but me and my comp arrived there, and we talked to her and she wanted to be baptized! i was so excited because i had already talked to her mom about 4 times to let her be baptized, and when i left the area i was really sad to not be there for her baptism, but everything worked out and i was able to be there and be one of the missionaries who baptized her!
and then on sunday we baptized a rapaz with 10 yrs. his name is Vinicius. his tia and prima and 3 other primos are members of the church already and now we are trying to help his sister be baptized to. it was pretty sweet!
so remember when i was in this area before and how i was always stressed out. yeah, well now i remember why and how much i didn't like this area. áte this was my least favorite area, but things are a little bit better this time around, although i still get stressed out way easy, but the bishopric is working with us better and so that's good. i just have to get the ward to work now, actually both wards. usually the frequencia is about 60 to 70 people. which is really low, but on sunday it was 30! in both wards! how pathetic huh! nobody is doing anything here. i think that is what gives more stress. the bishopric in one ward are complete slackers, and nobody does there home teaching or visits or anything! man, my testimony has really grown about home teaching! it is so important, you wouldn't believe how important it is! it is really tough when the members don't want to work, after church we were asking and almost pleading some members to stay to watch the baptism so we could have a witness and people to sing the hymns. i was really frustrated, but luckily we have about 5 people that are supporting our cause. so everything worked out.
so i am going to send home pics of the baptisms this week and of my bday present that i bought. there is a member in João Pessoa that works with leather and i had him make me a cap for my Preach My Gospel. it is way xike! i think i'll have him make one for my bible to.
and we had a conference with Pres. yesterday so i will send a foto of our zone and some of the guys from the ctm.
